Cladding Options
Choose a finish that delights your garden, not the paintbrush
At I Love My Garden Building, we believe the exterior finish of your garden room should be as durable and low-maintenance as the structure itself. That’s why we offer a carefully selected range of cladding options — all engineered to look superb and require minimal upkeep.
We provide samples and carry a selection of cladding boards to view on-site. This way you can see the textures, colours and finishes in real light, making the decision much easier.
Below you’ll find our most popular choices, along with the benefits, features and suitability of each.

Slatted, Slat Wall or Box Cladding
Slatted cladding has become incredibly popular in recent years, often used to achieve a stylish, modern aesthetic both indoors and out. Thanks to modern materials, you can now enjoy that same contemporary look with external-grade composite slat wall cladding.
It’s a striking option that adds depth and texture to your building, whether used as a bold feature wall or wrapped around the entire structure.
Because it’s made from high-performance composite materials, it won’t rot, warp, fade, or absorb moisture — meaning your building keeps its smart, clean lines without the need for maintenance.
A brilliant choice for anyone looking to make their garden room really stand out.

Wood-Effect Composite Cladding
Love the look of timber but not the upkeep? Our wood-effect composite boards give you all the charm of natural woodgrain with none of the hassle.
Available in a wide variety of shades and finishes, these boards offer realistic grain textures and beautiful colour options. They can be installed horizontally or vertically depending on your preferred style.
Durable, fade-resistant, and completely maintenance-free, this is an ideal solution for anyone who wants a timeless appearance with modern practicality.

Fine Grain Composite Cladding
If you prefer a more refined, subtle finish, our fine grain composite boards are a perfect choice. With slim, narrow joints and soft texture, they offer a clean, modern look with a hint of traditional charm.
These boards can be fitted either vertically or horizontally and, like all composite options, require virtually no maintenance. They’re ideal for achieving a neat, contemporary finish that complements any garden setting.

Brushed Composite Cladding
For an ultra-modern finish, our brushed composite cladding delivers a smooth, crisp look with tight joints and consistent colour throughout.
This style is especially popular for modern homes and landscaped gardens where clean design is key. It pairs beautifully with slatted cladding used on feature walls, creating visual contrast and architectural flair.
Available in a wide range of colours, brushed composite boards are tough, weather-resistant, and completely maintenance-free.

Timber Cladding (Cedar or Larch)
Sometimes nothing compares to real wood — and we completely understand that. We still love natural timber and offer Western Red Cedar and Siberian Larch, two of the most durable, weather-resistant options available.
In some cases, local authorities or conservation areas require timber finishes — for example, on listed buildings or in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). In these instances, we’ll ensure your build meets all requirements while maximising lifespan and minimising upkeep.
Each timber building is treated with a UV-resistant oil, preserving its colour and protecting it from the elements. Whether you prefer the warm tones of cedar or the pale golden hues of larch, natural timber brings a unique character that only improves with age.

Cement Board Cladding
Our cement board cladding is a fantastic solution for clients who need a non-combustible, ultra-durable finish — often used when buildings are close to boundaries or other structures.
Made from cement, sand, and fibre, these boards are completely rot-proof, fire-resistant, and require zero maintenance. We frequently use them on rear or side walls where access for maintenance is limited.
Modern cement boards now come in a range of attractive finishes and colours, offering excellent durability and weather protection. While slightly more costly and labour-intensive to install than composite cladding, they’re essential in certain circumstances — such as when meeting building regulations near boundaries, emergency exits, or stairwells.
Our team will assess your site and advise whether cement-based cladding is required during your design consultation.
